Aberdare Kosen Rufu Event

On Saturday 20th March 2010, Croeso District held an introductory event at Cwmdare Country Park. It was attended by 12 to 14 guests, and an equal number of SGI-UK members.

The purpose of the event was to let people in the Aberdare area know that Nichiren's Buddhism is being practised in that area and to let them know a little bit about the basics.

The event was set to run from 2:00pm until 4:00pm and went off without a hitch.

We did a demonstration of chanting, explained the meaning of Nam Myoho Renge Kyo with a flip-chart presentation. This was followed by a Powerpoint Slideshow presentation about the basics of the Gohonzon. After an inspiring experience by a young man from Church Village, we showed the 20 minute film called "Shared Humanity".

After this there was another experience before we had a lively question and answer session. The event concluded with free tea, coffee and cakes.

The event was enjoyed by all and we are hoping that some of the guests who turned up will get in touch to learn more.

Below are some photographs of the Cwmdare Park Centre.
